TITLE : A Mercenary Response
|
I cannot say that all mercenaries always act legally or morally, neither can I say that about governments. The point that was made comparing mercenaries to a government\'s armies was much ignored for the sake of a certain poster\'s view. A mercenary can only be convicted for killing a member of some government in the same way that an enemy government\'s army members would be convicted for the same \"crime.\" I use the quotation marks because in that instance it is only a crime to the government it hurts, but it is an act of loyalty or nationality to the government that carries out the plan.
Mercenaries are not random law breakers. We do not aim to break laws or destroy government power. There are some who will do anything for the credits, but many of us take other things into consideration. I, for one, would not go bomb a civilian area just to cause trouble whether I was going to be paid to do it or even if I was in someone\'s army. Some armies issue orders such as that, and they are followed, just as some mercenaries would probably carry out orders like that. The purpose of mercenaries is to aid governments and non-government groups. We will aid the big dogs as well as we will the underdog just as long as they all meet the same requirements.
